Clocks: No Time for a Funeral

I like grandfathers best,
so I can cut off their hands
when they steal time.
Their tics, they comfort me;
their impartial dial eyes,
partakers of flesh and blood.

Hear their longsuffering reputation:
footsteps, the clink, clink, clink
of Old Man Time and
his pocketful of dimes
dropping in the curse box
at the senior center.
