Fogged Horizons

fog and water
separated by a sheen
of veined membranes
stretching across
rivers of current
wrinkling across
to the narrow band of
shadow that hides
nereid horizons

melting salt mist
reveals tattered edges,
spruce tips of dark
dimensionless
reassurance that this
island hasn't drifted
out to sea
